The Association of Painting and Sculpture
Museums
The Association was founded in 1980 by a group of people who came together
under concern of making art more widespread in our country. In this respect,
the main objective of the association was to open the Painting and Sculpture
Museum for public and to have a museum building built.The objectives and
goals which lie under the motive to establish the Association also include:
- Realizing new concepts and structures
for the concept of contemporary museums.
- Making a contribution to the activities
of these institutions with a contemporary approach.
- Helping to invoke a-public opinion on
the contemporary museum concept.
- Enhancing the collections of museums.
As an anstitution supporting contemporary art
and young artists in Turkey, the Association organizes the following for
children, young people and adults :
- Painting, sculpture works.
- Theoretical studies.
- Figure painting from live models.
- Short- term workshops with children in
cooperation with schools and municipalities in town and the neighboring
towns.
- Practices with different materials and
techniques which artists use.
- Talks,excursions, conferences.
- International and national workshops.
- Competitions and exhibitions.
