II. INTERNATIONAL PRINT EXHIBITION ENTRY CONDITIONS

Association of the Museums of Painting and Sculpture is an organization working for the public interest which was established in 1980 for encouraging and supporting artistic creativity, assisting operability of the Museums of Painting and Sculpture, and to found new museum buildings. In addition to the "Contemporary Artists Istanbul Exhibition" which have traditionally been organized for the last 24 years in order to make contributions to association of the contemporary artists to an environment of high quality and to ensure that their basic problems are opened for discussion, the 2nd International Print Exhibition, which focuses on interpretation of paper as a traditional material with a contemporary perspective, is being organized again this year with an international dimension. Keeping inmind that living as civilized individuals in a civilized society can only be possible by activating the inner dynamics of a society and one of the most effective methods of doing that is the art, starting point of this exhibition is both to incite the artist with a passive material with which he/she can express inner-self, and on the other hand, to ensure the followers meet together with the art according to the conditions reigning at present. Hoping that paper and ink, which are the oldest artistic materials on earth, will reach to new ways of expression with the technological developments and contemporary approaches, we aim to carry this exhibition to the future, believing that it will fill a significant gap through.

TITLE:

TABULA RASA

The universe is an endless plenitude
The universe is an endless possibility
The universe is a plenitude that opens itself by self creation
Large and small, every piece in the universe is gifted with opportunities for creating
The universe reaches to a new eternity through new creations
Human is who creates the new infinity
Human that is an unprocessed consciousness, a tabula rasa, a raw stone.
Take a page in your hand
A page, whether made of zinc, copper, brass or paper
That page is full of possibilities of eternity
Because
You can paint the unsurpassed beauties on that page
You can write the great wisdoms on that page
You can begin deaths and wars with what you write on that page
You can close an era; open an era with what you write on that page
That page is full of possibilities of eternity
That page shows whatever you are
That page is a tabula rasa, a raw stone
You are what you want that page to be
You should write if you want to know yourself
You should sculpt if you want to see yourself
That page is a tabula rasa, a raw stone
You are what shape you form out of it
That page is full of possibilities of eternity
That page is a tabula rasa, a raw stone
